AREF Lectures are presented throughout the year by partnering healthcare professionals and cancer survivors. Topics range from alternative therapies and prevention techniques to real life survivor experiences. Lectures are free to the public and take place at the Walker Medical Building and various locations throughout St. Louis. AREF Cooking Classes take place in the Fall and Spring and are taught by Saint Louis University’s School of Nutrition and Dietetics. All classes are located at Roth Distributing, 2260 Ball Drive, St. Louis, MO 63146. The cost to register is $10.00 per class. Please see calendar for more details. AREF Health Fair takes place yearly at the First Baptist Church of Meacham Park. The focus of the health fair is on cancer education however general health exhibitors are invited to attend in order to address the needs of the entire community. Support Dogs visit with the patients at the Center for Cancer Care and Research twice a month. Studies have proven that animals are beneficial to many patients; as they calm patients. Scrap Booking Sessions are offered weekly at the Center for Cancer Care and Research. Facilitated by a Creative Memories Consultant, patients, their friends, families and caregivers are encouraged to take some time and learn more about scrap booking - and how beneficial it is. If you would like to volunteer and assist with planning a AREF program,
